15 May 2019 CONCERTS OF POZNAN PHILHARMONIC ON AIR OF DEUTSCHLANDFUNK KULTUR!

Collaboration of Poznan Philharmonic and Deutschlandfunk Kultur, the main German broadcaster, is gathering pace! In May on air of this prestigious national German radio you can listen to retransmissions of two concerts of Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra.

On Saturday, the 18th of May, at 7:05 p.m., “Paria”, the last opera of Stanisław Moniuszko, performed in Italian – the composer’s dream language version. Artists: Katarzyna Hołysz, Robert Jezierski, Yuri Gorodetsky, Tomasz Warmijak, Szymon Komasa and Warsaw Philharmonic Choir along with Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra led by Łukasz Borowicz. The recording was made on the 10th of April 2019, during the concert in Warsaw Philharmonic, held in the framework of 23rd Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival.

While on Tuesday, 28th of May, at 8:03 p.m., unknown pieces of forgotten composers – the world concert premiere of Ignatz Waghalter’s “New World Suite” and Karol Rathaus’ Piano Concerto. Performers: Daniel Wnukowski (piano) and Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ariel Zuckermann. The concert, entitled “Premieres from New York”, will be recorded on the 17th of May 2019 in AMU Concert Hall in Poznan.

11 May 2019 CHIEF CONDUCTOR OF POZNAŃ PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA IN POLISH RADIO PROGRAM II

Professor Marek Pijarowski – one of the most remarkable Polish maestros of the baton and chief conductor of Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra, will be the guest of “The Records of Everyday Life” – cycle of daily radio programs of Polish Radio II.

From Monday 13th of May to Friday 17th of May at 12:45 p.m. you can listen to his stories about different colours of (not only artistic) life on air of Polish Radio II.

08 May 2019 FRENCH HORN PLAYERS OF THE POZNAŃ PHILHARMONIC ARE THE BEST!

On the 5th National Competition for Brass Instruments, which ended recently in Katowice, musicians-soloists of Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra once again seized prizes.

Two main awards (2nd and 3rd prize, 1st not granted) in the French Horn category were given to Marcin Chrzanowski (2nd prize) and Monika Paprocka-Całus (3rd prize).

09 April 2019 POZNAN PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA AT THE NATIONAL PHILHARMONIC IN WARSAW – ON AIR IN POLISH RADIO PROGRAM II

We would like to invite you to the broadcast of Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, held within the 23rd Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival. Accompanied by superb soloists, as well as the Choir of the National Philharmonic and led by Maestro Łukasz Borowicz, the musicians will present “Paria” by Stanisław Moniuszko. The opera will be performed in Italian. The broadcast in Polish Radio Program II starts at 7 p.m.

02 April 2019 CHANGES IN THE RULES OF PURCHASING SEASON TICKETS FOR POZNAN CONCERTS FOR ARTISTIC SEASON 2019/2020

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, we would like to inform you about the changes introduced in the rules of purchasing season tickets for Poznan Concerts for artistic season 2019/2020!

The Poznan Concerts season tickets for the new artistic season will be sold from the 10th of June to the 28th of June 2019. The auditors are invited directly to Poznan Philharmonic Box Office, which is open Monday to Friday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

We inform our regular listeners that at the purchase of the new ticket, the ticket for season 2018/2019 is needed.

We invite new music lovers to place the order at the ticket office.

  • The first concert is scheduled for the 28th of September 2019.

12 February 2019 Elegiac etude by Szymanowski will open the friday concert

Due to the national mourning announced owing to the death of former Prime Minister Jan Olszewski, the Friday concert in the Poznan Philharmonic (held on 15th of February at 7 p.m. in AMU Concert Hall) will be opened by the melancholy filled elegiac Etude in B flat minor Op. 4 No. 3 by Karol Szymanowski, in Maciej Żółtowski’s arrangement for chamber orchestra.

The Etude will be followed by Piano Concerto No. 3 in C major Op. 26 by Sergei Prokofiev, performed by the star of the evening, Anna Vinnitskaya – an artist who entrances the audience and critics by an incredible virtuosity, always linked with natural sound filled with different tones. After the intermission the listeners would listen to the Symphony No. 7 in d minor Op. 70 by Antonín Dvořák. The Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra will perform under the lead of their Chief Conductor, Marek Pijarowski.

28 January 2019 After a premiere in Poznan Philharmonic. new album of Rafał Blechacz and Bomsori Kim

Deutsche Grammophon label has released a new album by Rafał Blechacz, this time recorded together with Bomsori Kim. The CD comprises sonatas for violin and piano by Gabriel Fauré, Claude Debussy and Karol Szymanowski, as well as… Frédéric Chopin’s Nocturne No. 20.

The first performance of the program took place in June 2018 in Poznan Philharmonic, during a concert closing the season 2017/2018. The event also marked the end of the great Polish pianist’s residency in our institution. In July 2018 both artists (Bomsori Kim is the soloist-in-residence of Poznan Philharmonic in the current artistic season) recorded the aforementioned works in Berlin.

The campaign of their joint album in the Poznan Philharmonic is planned for Friday, the 1st of March, during a concert “From the Golden Prague”, held in AMU Concert Hall with the participation of Bomsori Kim.

16 January 2019 CONCERT IN MEMORY OF PAWEŁ ADAMOWICZ ON FRIDAY, INSTEAD OF SATURDAY

Due to the national mourning announced owing to the death of Paweł Adamowicz – Mayor of Gdańsk – Poznan Philharmonic alternates the program and the date of the 474. Poznań Concert, scheduled for Saturday, 19th of January 2019. “Halka on screen and on stage” will take place in the second half of year 2019, in the artistic season of 2019/2020.

Whereas the program of the 474. Poznań Concert, held exceptionally on Friday, 18th of January at 7 p.m. in AMU Concert Hall, will include, among other works, the famous Symphony No. 3 “Symphony of Sorrowful Songs” by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. The concert, entitled “Sorrowful Songs”, is held in memory of Paweł Adamowicz.

Poznań Concerts’ season tickets for 19th of January, as well as megatickets MW, are valid for the Friday concert on the 18th of January.
