12 February 2019 Elegiac etude by Szymanowski will open the friday concert

Due to the national mourning announced owing to the death of former Prime Minister Jan Olszewski, the Friday concert in the Poznan Philharmonic (held on 15th of February at 7 p.m. in AMU Concert Hall) will be opened by the melancholy filled elegiac Etude in B flat minor Op. 4 No. 3 by Karol Szymanowski, in Maciej Żółtowski’s arrangement for chamber orchestra.

The Etude will be followed by Piano Concerto No. 3 in C major Op. 26 by Sergei Prokofiev, performed by the star of the evening, Anna Vinnitskaya – an artist who entrances the audience and critics by an incredible virtuosity, always linked with natural sound filled with different tones. After the intermission the listeners would listen to the Symphony No. 7 in d minor Op. 70 by Antonín Dvořák. The Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra will perform under the lead of their Chief Conductor, Marek Pijarowski.
